Chick-fil-A reported Thursday its sales through the firsf half of 2009 are up10 percent, whilwe same-store sales rose abouty 3 percent. The private restaurant chain did not disclose exacgsales figures. Chick-fil-A’s sales in 2008 increased 12 percent toaboutt $3 billion. The company also said it will now open 69new stand-alonr restaurants (up from 64), for a totap of 80 restaurant openings in 2009. As of the end of the chain opened 31 new restaurants and kept pace with its goal to reinvesg in 65 of its current locations throughmajor remodels.
“These uncertain economi c times continue to inspire us to remain focused on the core valuexs that have shaped our brand -- delivering excellent food and unequalec customer service,” said Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Dan T. Cathy, in a news “Despite the troubling economy, stable financial health is allowing us to grow and not waive froma second-mile service commitment to our customers. The results can be found in our continued success for which weremaijn thankful.” Chick-fil-A has more than 1,445 restaurants in 38 stateds and Washington, D.C.
