Reports: U.S. probes Silicon Valley tech giants' hiring - Phoenix Business Journal:

The Washington Post and New York Times reporterd late on Tuesday that the antitrusrt probe is centered onwhether (NASDAQ:GOOG), (NASDAQ:YHOO), and others agreed not to recruitf each other's employees. The storiew cited unnamed sources the papers said are familiadr withthe matter. The investigation is reportedly in itsearlyh stages, with the paper saying that the government has requested documents and informatiobn from targeted companies.
The inquiry is seen as another sign that the Obamaw administration will be more aggressivse on antitrust laws than his predecessor and Silicon Valley tech firms are a focus of that The Justice Department is currently also investigating a proposed settlemenbetween Google, authors and publishers to resolvre a copyright dispute, the Wall Street Journap has reported citing unnamed The Federal Trade Commission has also asked questions abougt whether having Google CEO Eric Schmidtf and former Genentech Inc. CEO Art Levinson on both the Apple and Googlw board is a violation ofantitrust laws.
